Pulished on Oct. 31, 2019

1. Reverse Carnot cycle principle

1.1 Carnot cycle:In 1824, the French young engineer Kano studied the efficiency of an ideal heat engine. The cycle of this heat engine is called the Carnot cycle. The heat engine using this cycle is the most efficient.

1.2 The Carnot cycle consists of four cyclic processes, two adiabatic processes and two isothermal processes. In 1824, N.L.S. Kano made a theoretical study on the maximum possible efficiency of heat engines.Kano assumes that the working substance exchanges heat only with two constant temperature heat sources, and there is no loss of heat, air leakage, rubbing, etc.In order to make the process a quasi-static process, the heat of the working substance from the high temperature heat source should be an isothermal expansion process without temperature difference.Similarly, the exotherm to the low temperature heat source should be an isothermal compression process.Because the working substance is restricted to exchange heat with only two heat sources, only the adiabatic process is obtained after leaving the heat source.
