Matters needing attention in installation and operation of cooling towers

1. Choose the appropriate installation site

The ground bearing capacity should refer to the operating weight of the cooling tower and the design and installation factor.

Environmental conditions:

1) The shortest distance between the inlet of the cooling tower and the adjacent building is greater than 1.5 times the height of the tower.

2) It should not be installed in substations, boilers and other places where there are heat sources.Keep the top of the tower away from open flames.

3) It should not be installed in places with corrosive gases, such as chimneys, hot springs, etc.

2. Installation instructions

1) The foundation of the cooling tower needs to be pre-buried to the horizontal steel plate according to the specified size. The height of each foundation surface should be on the same horizontal plane, the elevation error is within 1mm, and intersection center error  is within 2mm.

2) Tower body should be placed horizontally.

3) When installing the water tower, the installer should step on the ribs of the water basin to avoid crushing the water basin.In addition, when installing the fiber parts such as the card casing and the water basin, the screws should be first worn and then tightened them one by one ,in order to avoid deformation of the casing and the water basin.In the case that the water basin is not deformed, and the contact and the vicinity are clean and dry, the fiber blanket and the rubbing resin may be additionally provided at the joint to avoid water leakage during use.

3. Preparation before starting

1) Open the basin drain valve, clean up the mud and dirt in the basin, and then rinse the tower components.

2) Adjust the fan to make the fan blades have the same angle and evenly spaced from the tower body.

3) Check whether the running parts are flexible.

4) Adjust the float valve so that the water level of the basin is 20cm below the overflow.

4. Start

Start the pump intermittently, so that the air in the circulating water pipe is completely discharged, and then start the fan.

1) Check whether the air inlet and outlet air environment are normal during start-up, and whether the wind direction is upward when the fan is running.

2) Adjust the water flow to the value required for the water tower to operate normally.

3) Check the voltage and current of the motor running, not to exceed the motor nameplate .

4) The user power circuit should have phase loss protection and overload protection measures.

5. Operation check

1) Keep the tower clean and prevent dirt and algae formation.

2) Maintain circulating water volume to ensure cooling tower cooling load.

3) Regularly check the basin water level, cooling water temperature, motor voltage, motor current, and vibration and noise values of the cooling tower.

6. Others

1) When the installation is completed, it should be checked in time whether any tools or items are left in the tower or the exhaust fan port.

2) When starting up, check the piping and the water tray for leaks.

3) When the water supply source is lower than the cooling tower or the water pressure is not enough, the water pump or another higher water tank should be installed to fill the water.

4) When adjusting the installation, it is not allowed to directly step on the filler. If you need to step on it, you should temporarily put the wooden board on the filler.
